Serena Towers

Luanda, Angola, 2012

Commercial and Multi-business Development

Project for an office complex with spa, restaurants and commercial outlets, set in an enclosure with unique landscaping, enhanced by the Bay of Luanda to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The concept is outlined by the institutional image of the planned usage of the buildings and by their representativeness of the landscape, intending to form a relationship and dialogue with their near and distant surroundings in terms of the urban nature of the city and the coastline. As a result of this principle, and whilst seeking a 'sui generis' identity in relation to the larger buildings around them, they are identified by the symbolic and discreet name 'Torres Serena' (Peaceful Towers) by way of the use of bar codes on the east and west-facing façades to identify their name (universal system 128A).
